Thematic Meeting of the Legal Aid Reformers’ Network

The meeting was organized by Soros Foundation Moldova and Open Society Justice Initiative in cooperation with the Open Society Georgia – Foundation, with the financial assistance of Human Rights Grants and Governance Program.

Meeting’s objectives:

  • Share best practices of quality assurance mechanisms in criminal defence among advanced legal aid systems and network’s partners,
  • Discuss the role of research in legal aid policy making to identify the needs in the network countries

Participants:

  • Representatives of the following project partners: OSI-Sofia, OSF - Georgia, SF-Moldova, OSF-Mongolia, IRF – Ukraine, SF – Kyrgyzstan, Open Society Justice Initiative and HRGGP
  • Representatives of the following project beneficiaries: NLAB – Bulgaria; LAS and PDs – Georgia; NLAC – Kyrgyzstan, NLACC and Legal aid lawyers’ Offices – Lithuania; NLAC and PDO – Moldova; NLAC and LAC – Mongolia; Kharkiv, Bila Tserkovi, Hmelnitki PDOs, Bar Association – Ukraine
